Construction and Maintenance of Artesian Wells
Experts in the construction and maintenance of artesian wells for every need.
Artesian wells can offer a safe and efficient solution for water supply. Learn more about the implementation steps and the benefits for a long-lasting, quality system.

Our Expertise
We operate with state-of-the-art machinery and highly qualified personnel to provide a complete service, from design to execution.

Drilling and Excavation
An artesian well is a natural source of underground water that spontaneously emerges to the surface thanks to the pressure of an aquifer confined between two impermeable layers. These wells are an ideal solution for those who need an autonomous, efficient and constant water supply. The water from an artesian well is often of high quality, as it comes from underground layers protected from external contamination.
Systems Maintenance
To ensure the proper functioning of a well, regular maintenance is essential. When performed consistently, it ensures the well operates correctly and maintains a steady water flow over time. These operations vary depending on the well's condition and may range from a simple structural check to a complete flushing. Maintenance intervals are usually annual or multi-year, depending on the type of well, the soil in which it is installed, its usage, and the amount of water extracted daily. Thanks to advanced equipment and highly qualified technical staff, Edilizia Di Fabio can intervene quickly and effectively.
Bureaucratic Procedures
is specialized in the design and construction of artesian wells, guaranteeing safe and sustainable solutions for every need, both public and private. Thanks to a large fleet of vehicles, we are able to operate throughout the Abruzzo region, with particular attention to the province of Chieti (CH).
Do you need an urgent intervention?
Our team is ready to intervene for submersible pump recovery, malfunctions, or water turbidity.
Our Operating Method
A structured and rigorous approach, typical of the EDF industrial identity, to guarantee excellent results.
1. Geological and hydrogeological investigations
Phase 1Before constructing the well, we carry out a thorough investigation of the soil to identify the presence and depth of aquifers. We use advanced techniques and surveying tools to ensure the feasibility of the project.
2. Customized design
Phase 2Based on the results of the investigations, we develop a customized project that responds to the specific needs of the customer, optimizing the depth, diameter and technologies to be used.
3. Fabrication and drilling
Phase 3With the use of cutting-edge machinery, we proceed with the drilling of the ground and the installation of the casing pipes, necessary to guarantee the safety and durability of the well.
4. Installation of the filter and protection systems
Phase 4We install a filtration system to ensure the quality of the water extracted and prevent debris from entering. The filters are positioned at the level of the aquifer.
5. Testing and flow rate testing
Phase 5Once completed, the well is tested for water extraction capacity and its long-term sustainability.

Periodic inspection
Periodic inspection of an artesian well is essential to ensure its efficiency and long-term durability. The inspection includes checking the well’s structural condition, pipe integrity, valves, and any incrustations. Water levels and flow rate are also monitored to detect possible performance drops or anomalies. An inspection is recommended at least once a year, especially for wells used for agricultural or potable purposes.
Well cleaning
Over time, sand, mud, sediments, and limescale can accumulate inside the well, obstructing the normal water flow. Well cleaning is therefore a key operation to keep it efficient and safe. The most commonly used technique is air-lift, which involves injecting compressed air through a pipe placed inside the well. The compressed air mixes with the water, forming bubbles that rise and carry debris (such as sand, gravel, soil) to the surface. The debris is then collected and properly disposed of.
Pump check
The pump is the heart of an artesian well. Checking it allows early detection of wear, unusual noises, or pressure drops. In case of malfunction, damaged parts connected to the pump or the entire unit can be replaced.
Water analysis
Depending on the intended use of the well, water analysis may be necessary to verify chemical parameters (pH, hardness, nitrates, heavy metals) and microbiological parameters (bacteria, coliforms, legionella). Samples are taken and analyzed in a specialized laboratory. If anomalies are detected, specific treatments, disinfection, or filtration may be required. Regular testing ensures the safe use of the water resource.
